World Cancer Day 2022
February 4th every year is celebrated as World Cancer Day to spread awareness about the deadly cancer disease. Cancer is the second main cause of death across the globe and therefore it is important to spread awareness about this deadly disease. World Cancer Day is declared as a “global uniting initiative” by the UICC or Union of International Cancer Control. This 4th day of 2nd month of the year is aimed to discard myths about cancer and to get away with the prejudices dealt by the cancer patients in their life. Besides, World Cancer Day is meant to reduce the fear of cancer disease by inspiring people with cancer survivor stories broadcast on different channels year to year.

Like every year, this year too World Cancer Day has a theme. The interesting theme of World Cancer Day 2022 is ‘Close the Care Gap’. This unusual theme of World Cancer Day 2022 is all about understanding the need for cancer care and identifying the global discrepancies in cancer care. This year on World Cancer Day 2022, we are expecting to understand what is the gap that prevents cancer patients to access the essential medical services and treatments to win their battle against cancer.

Mr. Jayant Kandoi – The Six-Times Brave Cancer Fighter

He was in class 10th when he was first diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer. It was difficult for him to accept the truth at such a young age of mere 16 years, but he chose to overcome his fear to fight against it.
Dr. Rekha Arya – An Eminent Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Rekha Arya is the consultant in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Yashoda Cancer Institute, Sanjay Nagar, Ghaziabad. She has a rich experience of 10 years in the field of radiation oncology. Dr. Rekha is a dynamic doctor, who has been helping cancer patients recover with radiotherapy. Her knowledge of cancer care is immense and she has many publications about the same to her credit.
