What are Covaxin Side Effects in Children?

What are Covaxin Side Effects in Children

The COVID-19 cases have lessened once the dangerous peak of the second wave was over. But again, a new variant (Omicron) was detected on 26th November in South Africa. The WHO declared this as a “variant of concern” and asked nations to uplift their vaccination programs. The WHO also instructed them to start inoculating children and senior citizens with the booster dosage. Now, the Omicron cases are rising rapidly throughout the world and countries like the USA are reporting more than 10 lakh cases per day over the past few years. In India, the COVID-19 cases have increased manifolds over the past few days. The positivity rate was 0.63& on 29th December but it touched over 5% on 4th January 20222. The government has again reinforced restrictions, night curfews, and partial lockdowns in various places.

Though this new variant is highly transmissible (5-6 times more transmissible than the delta variants), it shows only milder illness. But even if a small proportion of serious cases in a large infected population needs hospitalization, then the entire healthcare system will collapse. Thus, many healthcare experts and scientists have applauded the government’s decision to vaccinate children against the COVID-19. Though children are less susceptible to the diseases and may hardly develop severe symptoms like adults, they can still infect their family members, especially elderly people or those who are having underlying diseases. Till now, the government has inoculated more than 1 Crore people with the jab.

The Bottom Line

To stay protected against this new variant and older variants, everyone should guard themselves with an adequate coronavirus insurance policy. This is the ideal time to purchase COVID-19 specific policies like Corona Kavach, Corona Rakshak, etc. to enhance your protection against this lethal virus. These types of policies compensate for all your hospitalization expenses, domiciliary charges, PPE kits, gloves, masks, and other consumable items.

Nowadays, many companies are offering health policies that will meet up your COVID-19 treatment and expenses. So, purchase a health insurance policy without any procrastination and lead a worry-free life even in this pandemic.
