Digit Third Party Car Insurance: According to the Indian Motor Vehicles Act 2002, every car owner is mandated to have a third-party insurance cover. Digit third-party car insurance policy insures against financial liabilities that might arise because of third-party death and bodily injuries. For third-party property damage due to your car, it compensates only up to Rs. 7.5 lakh. Digit General Insurance offers third-party car coverage for 1 year as well as for 3 years and 5 years with optional personal accident coverage of up to Rs 15 lakh.

Digit Comprehensive Car Insurance: This policy offers protection against damage suffered by the insured car or vehicle as well as third-party liabilities (both for life and property). Digit comprehensive car insurance policy covers the insured vehicle against any damage/ loss sustained in a road accident, theft, natural or man-made calamity, or any other disaster in addition to the third-party liabilities.

What is covered under Digit Car Insurance?

  • Accidents: Damages and losses that might arise due to accidents or collisions.
  • Natural Disasters: Damages and losses to the vehicle due to natural calamities like cyclones, floods, etc.
  • Personal Accident: In case of death or disability of the owner of the car due to a car accident.
  • Theft: Covers the losses incurred if your car is stolen.
  • Fire: Damages and losses caused to your car due to an accidental fire.
  • Third-Party losses: In case your car causes damage and losses to someone else, their vehicle, or their property.

What is not covered under Digit Car Insurance?

  • Own Damages for Third-Party Policyholder: In the case of a Third-Party or Liability only Car Policy, damages to own vehicle won’t be covered. 
    • Consequential Damages: Any damage not directly due to an accident, for example after an accident, if the car is driven incorrectly and the engine gets damaged, then it will not be covered.
    • Drunk driving or without a license: In case you were driving drunk or without a valid license.
  • Contributory Negligence: Any contributory negligence that is damage to the car due to driving a car in a flood that is not recommended in the manufacturer’s driving manual will not be covered.
  • Driving without a valid Driving Licence Holder: In case you hold a learner’s license and are found driving without a valid driving license holder in the front passenger seat.
  • Add-ons not bought: Certain situations are covered under the add-ons. If you don’t purchase add-ons then the corresponding situation will not be covered.

How to file a Digit Car Insurance Claim?

Step1: You need to call 1800-258-5956, no need to fill forms.

Step 2: You will get a link for self-inspection on your registered mobile number. Click pictures of your vehicle’s damage from your smartphone according to the guided step-by-step process.

Step 3: Opt for your preferred mode of repair that is Reimbursement or Cashless through Digi Insurance network of garages.
